What does the Spam Call Filter feature do? How does it work? |
 |
Every number that you receive a call from is assigned a Spam Probability Rating which is based on information provided in real-time by TrueCNAM
The Spam Probability Rating will provide you with insight into the likelihood that a caller to your number(s) is a Robocaller/Telemarketer.
Our Spam Call Filter will allow you to define how calls with a specific Spam Probability Rating are handled. For example, to reduce the likelihood that Telemarketers/Robocallers reach your phone you can route calls from numbers that have a "High" Spam Probability Rating to a destination such as Voicemail or a busy signal. |

Where can I configure the Spam Call Filter feature? |
 |
Spam Call Filter is an optional setting that can be activated inside a Call Treatment rule.
By default, the option is set to ANY. In this mode, you are asking a specific Call Treatment rule to ignore the Spam Rating. If you wish to process the calls based on specific Spam Ratings then you may choose any of the following options/combinations for each rule:
- Low or
- Medium or
- High or
- Low, Medium or
- Low, High or
- Medium, High |

What do the Spam Call Filter categories indicate? |
 |
There are currently three different Spam Probability Ratings; and they are as follows:
Low: Generally speaking these numbers are "good" and have the lowest likelihood of being associated with Robocaller/Telemarketer activity
Medium: These numbers have a moderate chance of being associated with Robocaller/Telemarketer Activity
High: These numbers have the highest chance of being associated with Robocaller/Telemarketer activity |

Can I use the Spam Call Filter in conjunction with the Telemarketer Block feature? |
 |
Yes, you can use the Spam Call Filter in conjunction with the Telemarketer Block Feature.
It would be impossible to unequivocally guarantee that every caller, who is calling from a number that has a Medium/High Spam Probability Rating is a Telemarketer/Robocaller. With that said, in our experience the large majority of Telemarketers/Robocallers are unable to satisfy the "key prompt requirement" of our Telemarketer Block Feature in order to complete their call.
By configuring your account to direct calls with a Medium/High Spam Probability Rating to our Telemarketer Block Feature, you can provide an opportunity for legitimate/trusted callers to reach their intended destination while still protecting against receiving unwanted Telemarketer/Robocalls. |

Does Callcentric have any recommendations/suggestions about how to best configure the Spam Call Filter feature? |
 |
The goal of our Spam Call Filter Feature is to reduce the total amount of unwanted Telemarketer/Robocalls that reach your phone. With that said, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that every caller, who is calling from a number that has a Medium/High Spam Probability Rating, is a Telemarketer/Robocaller.
When you begin using this feature, we recommend that you configure your Spam Filter Call Treatment to route calls (with a Medium/High Spam Probability Rating) to our Voicemail or Telemarketer Block Features rather than outright blocking them (busy signal, error message, etc). Doing so will allow you to attain a better understanding of how specific incoming numbers are rated while still providing an opportunity for trusted/legitimate callers to reach you. |
