Will I be charged for incoming phone calls?
This depends on the phone number product you purchase. Some phone number products include incoming minutes at no additional charge; and some products have a per-minute fee for incoming calls.

To compare our phone number products please see the phone number comparison page.

Please note that if you are forwarding a call using a Call Treatment that the forwarded call will be billed at Pay Per Call rates as described here.

How are incoming minutes charged on phone numbers products that have per minute fee?
For phone number products that have per-minute incoming rates the cost of the incoming call is deducted from your Callcentric account balance.

You must have funds in your Callcentric account balance in order to pay for and receive incoming calls if your phone number is billed at a per-minute rate.

You can ADD funds to your Callcentric account balance by logging into your account; and you may also want to enable auto-recharge using a credit or debit card to ensure you always have money available in your balance to pay for an incoming call. Auto-recharge settings may be modified by logging into your account.

Here are two Inbound plans that have per minute call charges:

Pay Per Minute plan
$0.015 cents/minute(1.5 cents/min) on all Inbound calls

Toll Free plan
Inbound from US48: $0.0198 cents/minute
Inbound from Canada: $0.0240 cents/minute
Inbound from Hawaii: $0.0690 cents/minute
Inbound from Alaska: $0.0220 cents/minute
Inbound from Caribbean: $0.0690 cents/minute
Inbound from Guam: $0.0990 cents/minute

Note: Calls answered by Voicemail will also see the per minute charges.

How many incoming calls can I receive on my Callcentric or real phone number at a time?
This depends upon which phone number product you have purchased, how many incoming channels it includes, and whether you have added any additional channels.

For an explanation of what a channel is, please see this FAQ.

The phone number comparison page shows the number of channels included with each product, and whether additional channels may be added.

I keep receiving calls from telemarketers or for people that aren't me, why is this?
If you have a real US or Canadian phone number assigned to your account it is likely that this number belonged to multiple people before it was assigned to you.

Callcentric does not re-assign numbers that were assigned to another Callcentric user immediately; instead we hold numbers for at least 1 month before assigning it to another user. Unfortunately many telemarketers use out of date databases to conduct sales or research and you may receive calls from them.

Callcentric suggests that you visit the National Do Not Call registry and register your number.

For phone numbers in the US please visit: http://www.donotcall.gov.

For phone numbers in Canada please visit: http://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca.

Can I choose my DID (number) before I purchase it?
Currently Callcentric does not offer the ability for users to choose the specific number they want; however you can of course choose the exact area in which you would like your number.

When I lookup a vanity number, how long is it available for?
Vanity numbers are ordered based on their availability. When you request a vanity number we will first do a search and, if it is available, we will request that the number be reserved for a limited time period of around 45 days . If you do not confirm and place your order with us within 45 days then the reservation will be released. If you wish to purchase a vanity number after we have confirmed it is available please do so within 45 days.

We are not responsible for reservations which are released back into the global toll free database. After 45 days you will need to request another lookup in order to check availability.

Can I have more than one DID assigned to a single extension?
You definitely can. You may use Call treatments or DID forwarding, to send incoming calls to multiple numbers to a single extension. For example you may have the following:

Extensions

17771230000100
17771230000101

Numbers

12125555000
13145555000
19105555000

You can use Call treatments to send incoming calls to 13145555000 and 19105555000 to extension 17771230000101, while 17771230000100 receives all calls for 12125555000.

Of course you can get even more elaborate and configure even more complex call treatments.
