GENERAL INFORMATION |

The Callcentric Softphone is a basic softphone which runs on Microsoft Windows. It has been tested under Windows XP;
although other versions of Windows may work as well.
The Callcentric Softphone supports multiple codec's (Voice Compressors) including: G.723, G.729, GSM, iLBC, G.711u, and G.711a
allowing it to be used on even low bandwidth Internet connections. |

Configuring the Callcentric Softphone |

We recommend that you read each step through in its entirety before performing the action indicated in the step. |

If you have not already downloaded it yet, you may download the Callcentric Softphone here. |

Once downloaded run the installer application and follow the steps to install the Callcentric Softphone. |

Once the installation is complete the Callcentric Softphone will open automatically (if you selected the "Launch Callcentric Softphone" checkbox). |

On the Callcentric Softphone login screen enter your Account (username) and Password and click the LOGIN button.

Note: If you receive the error message "Username and/or Password incorrect" then please quit/exit the Callcentric Softphone, re-open it and re-enter your username and password. |

If your login was successful you will see "Logged in" and your account number shown in the Callcentric Softphone display.

That's it! You can make a test call to 17771234567, or if you are signed up for one of Callcentric's rate plans you
can place a call to a traditional landline or mobile phone by dialing either:
1 + the area code and number for calls to the US
Or
011 + the country code, area code, and number for calls worldwide
(you may also use 00 instead of 011).
To test inbound calls from Callcentric to your Callcentric Softphone, follow the directions
listed in this FAQ. |
