With the External Caller ID feature you can have your outbound calls include the Caller ID for a number not on your Callcentric account. We offer two options to pass Caller ID numbers for outbound calls originating from your account:
- If you would like your outgoing Caller ID to be sent as a number you do not have on your Callcentric account you may open a Trouble Ticket requesting to verify your number, and once verified you will be able to select that Caller ID for your outbound calls within your Preferences.
- If you are using an IP PBX system, you may open a Trouble Ticket requesting to verify your number or multiple numbers.
Once verified you may configure your IP PBX to pass any verified caller ID or any DID on your account during an outbound call (within the SIP INVITE message) by including the P-ASSERTED-IDENTITY, P-PREFERRED-IDENTITY, or REMOTE-PARTY-ID headers within the outbound call which will override any default Caller ID settings you have on your account.
This feature is used primarily by companies operating their own IP PBX to pass a specific number as the Caller ID, such as having each individual extension pass its unique DID rather than the company primary number.
