The Fusion (200/400) series of devices from U4EA, pronounced eu-pho-ri-a or "U 4 E A", are business class multi-function devices with the ability to
maintain a connection to a SIP or H323 trunk. Since Callcentric is a SIP 2.0 only service provider we are only interested in the SIP capabilities of
these devices. In this guide we will perform a basic configuration to enable your particular Fusion device to properly register to the Callcentric
servers and allow you to properly place and receive calls using the FXO ports.
Since U4EA also manufacturers other devices this guide could be used to assist you with basic configuration of those devices as well. We recommend the
Fusion devices to small-medium size businesses looking for a multi function device with stable hardware. The featureset for each device is very broad
and includes, but is not limited to:
- 4 port LAN switch
- ADSL WAN port on specific models
- Firewall and NAT
- VoIP User Agent licensable to 10/30/50/100 concurrent calls
- Application-aware Multi-Service QoS based on Guarantee of Service (GoS) with 9 classes
- Intelligent lifeline support via PSTN (FXO)
- SIP 2.0 SC (Session Controller)
- Support for G.711 codec or highly compressed codecs such as G.729
- T1/E1 WAN ports on specific models
- The 400 series comes in a rack mountable form factor while the 200 series comes in a desktop style form factor
NOTE: There are two versions of this guide: HTTP and SSH. In the HTTP version we will use the web interface to configure the device. In the SSH version
we will connect through the command line in order to perform the same configuration as the HTTP.
DISCLAIMER: We only provide initial support for this device. Once it is connected to our servers and you are able to place and receive calls any further
issues encountered will need to be handled by U4EA support as we do not have the staff with the necessary expertise to provide detailed support on these
devices. |
