Windows Messenger

HOW TO MAKE CALLS WITH Microsoft Messenger
To place a call with Windows Messenger you must already have Windows Messenger installed and configured. Follow these instructions to place a call:

STEP 1

You should have Windows Messenger open and see a screen that looks like this:



STEP 2

Select the Actions menu, and then Start a Voice Conversation... item.



STEP 3

You should now see a window appear like this:



Click on the Other tab.
STEP 4

Enter the phone number you would like to call in the field labeled Type the person's complete e-mail address:
  • If you want to call another Callcentric user you should enter the persons Callcentric number, for example 17771234567
  • If you want to call a number within the USA or Canada you would dial 1 plus the area code and number such as: 12125551234
  • If you want to call an international number you should dial either 011 or 00, the country code, area code, and number. For example: 011442071234567 or 00442071234567
Be sure that SIP Communications Service is selected under "Select the service that this person uses:"

Finally click the OK button.



STEP 5

You should now get a window that looks like:



You should hear your call begin to ring after a few seconds. To hang up the call click on the Stop Talking button in the upper right of the window.
