GENERAL INFORMATION
ZoIPer Communicator is a multi platform softphone offering a free version with many useful features. This softphone has been tested and shown to be stable in Windows, Linux and OSX.

This setup guide is based on version 1.00.4046 of the ZoIPer Communicator software, although most other older and newer versions should look very similar. This setup guide assumes you have properly installed the application on your operating system of choice and have gotten any audio issues resolved before attempting to configure ZoIPer for use with Callcentric.

Configuring ZoIPer
Configuring ZoIPer should be fairly straightforward. Here we will walk through a basic configuration shich should allow you to use your ZoIPer installation to place and receive calls using your Callcentric account.
STEP 1 Open the Zoiper softphone application and click on Zoiper on the top menu bar, and click on Preferences



STEP 2 Once in the Preferences configuration window activate the Show advanced options checkbox. Once the submenus load click on the Add new SIP account option.



STEP 3 In the popup window name the new account callcentric and click Ok. Now in the SIP Accounts configuration window use the settings below to configure your Callcentric account:




Domain:callcentric.com
Username:Enter your Callcentric number here (your Callcentric number starts with 1777 and has an additional 7 digits)
Password:Enter your SIP Password here. Your SIP password is the same password you create when you sign up for you Callcentric account. Optionally you may change it in your preferences: click here
Caller ID Name:-You can leave this blank, this feature is not used-
Auth. username:Enter your Callcentric number here (your Callcentric number starts with 1777 and has an additional 7 digits)
Use outbound proxyCheck (enable)
Outbound proxy:callcentric.com


STEP 4 To ensure that you are properly registered under your account, please click on SIP Accounts on your preferences window; you should see that you are currently registered, as shown on the screenshot below:



STEP 5 In the Preferences window click on Audio Options. From here disable all codecs except for u-law by clicking on the left arrow icon, as shown below:



Once you are done configuring your codecs click the OK button to bring you back to the main window.

STEP 6 That's it! You can now make a phone call.

You can make a test call to 17771234567, or if you are signed up for one of Callcentric's rate plans you can place a call to a traditional landline or mobile phone by dialing either:
1 + the area code and number for calls to the US
Or
011 + the country code, area code, and number for calls worldwide (you may also use 00 instead of 011).
