Configuring LinPhone for Android
NOTE: Please be aware that:

  • If used over 3G/4G/EDGE then depending on carrier and service plan used, you may be billed for your data usage.

Configuring Linphone for use with Callcentric is pretty straightforward and can be completed in a relatively short time.

We recommend that you read each step through in its entirety before performing the action indicated in the step.
Step 1 Launching Linphone
After installing Linphone please launch the softphone from your applications menu.

If this is your first time launching Linphone please view the welcome message and click continue.

If this is not your first time running Linphone please bring up the menu and click on Settings.

Step 2 Configuring your Callcentric account
We will now create a profile and enter the required credentials, such as your Callcentric number, password and SIP server:

Username: 1777MYCCID, where 1777MYCCID is the 1777 number assigned to you by Callcentric
Password: Enter your SIP Password here. Your SIP password is the same password you create when you sign up for your Callcentric account. Optionally you may change it in your account preferences.
Domain: callcentric.com
Proxy: callcentric.com
Outbound proxy: Enabled

The configuration screen should look similar to the one shown in the picture below:

Step 3 Configuring extra settings
DO NOT follow this step if you are not experiencing any problems.

There are extra settings which may be edited by the user for various purposes. We would recommend the following options for general trouble free operation of the softphone. You are however free to change these settings. We do recommend that you keep in mind that these settings may affect you stable use of Linphone with your Callcentric account.

Preferences
Start at boot time: Enable or Disable depending on your needs
Enable Video: Disabled
Stun server: Leave blank

Audio
Codecs:
pcmu
pcma

Video
Initiate video calls: Disabled
Share my camera: Disabled

With the above settings you should have trouble free operation of LinPhone with your Callcentric account.

Step 4 That's it! You can now make a phone call.

You can make a test call to 17771234567, or if you are signed up for one of Callcentric's rate plans you can place a call to a traditional landline or mobile phone by dialing either:
1 + the area code and number for calls to the US
Or
011 + the country code, area code, and number for calls worldwide (you may also use 00 instead of 011).
